Philippinger

Hey! My name is Philipp Orel, I’m 22 and I was born and raised in Vienna, Austria!

Since my teenage years I am into sneakers and basketball shoes, although I wouldn’t consider myself being a sneakerhead back then as I was neither collecting kicks nor obtaining and exchanging information about sneakers or anything that had to do with it.

Who roused me to passion for sneakers was my current girlfriend back in 2013 when we had gotten together and the first generation of the Nike Flyknit Racer Multicolor was released. Luckily I could cop them a few weeks after release at my local sneaker store „Paar Laden“.

Although I entered the scene late compared to the ones being there since the beginning I started to make new friends and building a network all around the world quickly. Today I am proud to call myself member of the famous WOMFT? crew which was established in Vienna in 2011. WOMFT? (What’s on my feet today?) is one of the biggest communities on the internet with over 30 000 members. I am responsible for the social media channels, cooperation with shops and brands all over the world and for our ongoing giveaways which you should check out on Facebook and Instagram!

What I enjoy about sneakers is that by having unlimited varieties of color and material combinations you can express yourself in a different way every time you choose what sneakers to wear and thus you can differ from everybody else. Besides that, certain sneakers just look awesome on-feet and can be combined with a lot of different outfits.

Another thing I like is the sneaker community. As mentioned before I made some cool new friends locally and globally and it is very fun for me to have conversations about sneakers, to exchange knowledge about current and older releases and just to meet new interesting people.

This shot was taken at the Instawalk on Airmax-Day 2015 on top of a hotel in the center of Vienna which was organized by our local sneaker store “Paar Laden”. I like this one as you have the aspect of a nice shoe and a cool background representing my home town.

This shot of the Nike Air Force 1 “Vachetta” Low is one of the most recent ones taken at a park garage in the near of Vienna’s most famous economics university. I think the shoe quite matches with the Patta x Carhartt Tennis Socks and currently it is one of my daily beaters.

To not show three pics of Nike sneakers I decided to go with something different. I am very into Asics, New Balance and Nike but I also have some Kangaroos, Adidas, Karhu and Reeboks at home. Some of my favorite NB models are the 1500, 998 and 997, especially older releases with good shape. This New Balance 1500 GGE just looks awesome on feet, doesn’t it?
