I am a sneakerhead episode 54 - @_timmysmalls

I was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia.

Boy wanted Nikes. Mum wouldn't buy boy Nikes. Boy cried and cried until Mum bought the Nikes. Boy was happy.

My lovely mother refused to spend any kind of decent money on Nikes and after countless bust ups and yelling matches inside of Rebel Sport and Sportsco, Mum finally gave in and bought me my first pair of Nikes in 1992. Nike Air Pegasus '92. I was the happiest person on the planet! Years after I discovered Michael Jordan and was mesmerised not only with basketball, but his will not win, work ethic and of course the sneakers! Back in the day I could nearly recite the entire Michael Jordan's Playground film!

I remember loving sneakers as a kid, however I didn't start seriously buying until 2008 when the money finally started to roll in. Michael Jordan was my absolute hero since I was young so naturally I started with Jordans and Nikes. I currently enjoy all types of brands from Jordan Brand, Nike, Saucony, New Balance, Asics, Karhu, KangaROOS, Adidas, Gourmet etc. My sneaker journey has been somewhat a solo one. None of my friends are really into the sneaker culture, so it's been good to be in touch with like minded people on the web.

I am a carpenter during the day, wedding photographer on the weekend, and when I find the time, I love to photograph shoes. Sneakers are just beautiful things, works of art at times. I love holding a brand new pair in the hand, admiring the colourway, the materials and workmanship (on certain pairs). I have a few collabs out back however if I can't obtain them easily then it's not worth my time. Having said that I am quite fond of Australian sneaker collabs, especially SneakerFreaker. How could I not??? They're from my hometown! I love looking at what people wear in the street and how they wear their sneakers. Sneaker photography is a huge passion of mine and I love nailing a killer shot.

I'd have to say one of my all time favourite pairs are the Saucony Grid SD x SneakerFreaker Kushwackers and the Air Jordan III True Blue.
